2GO new routes for 2026 add four direct portlinks: Davao to Zamboanga, General Santos to Zamboanga, Zamboanga to Iloilo, and Cebu to Batangas. In fact, 2GO Travel announced them in an advisory posted on September 7, 2026, and booking opened on September 23, 2026. Before these links, travelers between these ports usually had to connect through Manila or combine buses and other ferries.
Where the 2GO new routes fit in the network
However, the new portlinks are not separate ships. Instead, 2GO added stops to two existing loops:
- Manila–Davao–General Santos–Zamboanga–Iloilo–Manila, with the new legs from September 26, 2026 (counted from Davao).
- Manila–Cebu–Batangas–Manila, with the new Cebu–Batangas leg from September 22, 2026 (counted from Manila).
Because each ship runs one loop per week, each new leg sails once a week.
Weekly timetable for the Mindanao–Visayas loop
| Leg | Departs | Arrives |
|---|---|---|
| Manila to Davao | Wed 11:00 AM | Fri 6:00 PM |
| Davao to General Santos | Sat 4:00 AM | Sat 2:00 PM |
| General Santos to Zamboanga | Sat 11:00 PM | Sun 1:00 PM |
| Zamboanga to Iloilo | Sun 8:00 PM | Mon 11:00 AM |
| Iloilo to Manila | Mon 6:00 PM | Tue 3:00 PM |
A traveler going from Davao to Zamboanga stays aboard through the General Santos call, so the trip runs from Saturday 4:00 AM to Sunday 1:00 PM.
Weekly timetable for Cebu–Batangas
| Leg | Departs | Arrives |
|---|---|---|
| Manila to Cebu | Tue 7:00 AM | Wed 6:00 AM |
| Cebu to Batangas | Wed 11:00 AM | Thu 5:30 AM |
| Batangas to Manila | Thu 10:00 AM | Thu 5:00 PM |
For Metro Manila residents, Cebu–Batangas is useful because Batangas Port is reachable by bus from southern Metro Manila, which can be an alternative to Manila North Harbor.

What else adds to the fare
According to 2GO, the all-in amount may include meals, the fuel surcharge, a security fee, optional insurance, linen, and outlet service fees. In addition, the 20% senior citizen, PWD, and student discount applies to the base rate. Our 2GO schedule and fare guide explains each component, and our fuel surcharge guide lists the latest adjustments.
Who benefits from the 2GO new routes
The Zamboanga legs connect Zamboanga City with Davao, General Santos, and Iloilo without a detour through Manila. Meanwhile, Zamboanga–Iloilo gives Western Visayas a direct sea link to western Mindanao. For example, a family in General Santos visiting relatives in Zamboanga can now ride one overnight ship. Similarly, Cebu–Batangas links Central Visayas with southern Luzon. Finally, cargo-heavy travelers should note the 50 kg free baggage allowance and the excess rates in our 2GO baggage guide.
Booking the 2GO new routes
- Search your origin and destination on 2GO’s booking site or app. If the new leg does not appear, check that your date is on or after the start date.
- Compare classes using the total price, not only the base fare.
- For student or PWD discounts, book at a 2GO ticketing outlet, since 2GO says those are available only at outlets.
- Print or save your e-ticket itinerary receipt and bring a valid government ID.
Remember that 2GO tickets are valid only on the departure date printed on them, a rule in force since May 7, 2025.
On the day of travel
2GO asks passengers to arrive three to four hours before departure and to check in at least four hours ahead; gates close one hour before. Since the new legs are mid-loop calls, the ship may arrive from the previous port shortly before your departure, so watch for SMS notices of delays. Our 2GO terminal and boarding guide covers IDs and terminal steps.
Planning a trip on the 2GO new routes: two examples
First, imagine a student from Iloilo going home to Zamboanga for the semestral break. On the published loop, the ship leaves Zamboanga for Iloilo on Sunday at 8:00 PM, but the Iloilo-to-Zamboanga direction is not part of this loop. So, the student should search the booking system for Iloilo to Zamboanga and see whether it is offered, rather than assume the reverse leg exists. If it is not, the return may need another route.
Second, consider a worker in Cebu heading to a job in Batangas. The Cebu–Batangas leg leaves on Wednesday at 11:00 AM and arrives Thursday at 5:30 AM. Consequently, that early arrival leaves the whole Thursday for travel onward by land. In contrast, Manila-bound ships dock at North Harbor in Tondo. As a result, the Batangas option may suit travelers whose final destination is in Batangas, Laguna, or Cavite.
Choosing a class on a long leg
Most of the 2GO new routes involve at least one night aboard, and Davao–Zamboanga spans more than a day. On longer legs, the gap between Tourist and a Business Class bunk may be worth it for privacy and rest. For example, on Cebu–Batangas, Business Class S was listed at P2,571.84 against P2,370.59 for Tourist, a difference of about P200 in base fare. On the other hand, private rooms such as State Room or Suite cost two to three times as much. Likewise, families of three can compare the Stateroom for 3 rate with three separate bunks.
Food and comfort on board
Also, 2GO lists meals as one of the items that may be included in the all-in fare. Therefore, check your booking summary to see whether meals are included for your class. In addition, bring a light jacket, since aircon areas can be cold, and keep your ID and ticket within reach for checks during the voyage.
Schedule changes and advisories
Earlier in 2026, 2GO reassigned vessels on these same loops, using MV 2GO Masinag and MV 2GO Masigla. In that April advisory, affected passengers were notified by SMS and allowed to refund or rebook within 30 days of the original departure without surcharge. Similar arrangements may apply to future changes, so read each advisory carefully.
Who benefits from the 2GO new routes
The 2GO new routes link cities that used to need two or more trips. As a result, some travelers can now sail direct. For example, families visiting relatives across Mindanao and the Visayas may save a connection. In addition, small business owners moving goods between ports may find new options. However, check whether your exact port is on the route before you plan.
Planning a trip on the 2GO new routes
- First, confirm the sailing days on the official 2GO website.
- Next, check the published base fare and add the fuel surcharge and fees.
- Then book early, since new routes can fill up during holidays.
- Finally, plan how you will get from the port to your hotel or home.
Things to watch on the 2GO new routes
New routes sometimes change in the first months. For instance, the schedule may shift or a sailing may be cancelled. Because of this, check your email and the official 2GO advisories before you leave. Also keep a backup plan, such as a night in the port city. Meanwhile, bring snacks and water, since long trips can run late.
Before you book, read our 2GO fuel surcharge guide and our 2GO baggage guide.
Frequently asked questions
Do the 2GO new routes run in both directions?
The advisory lists the legs in the direction of each loop. Check the booking system for the reverse direction, because a loop ship returns by a different path.
Can I bring a pet?
2GO says only vessels sailing from or to Manila, except MV 2GO Masigla, accept pets. Therefore, ask 2GO before booking a pet on these legs.
Are the fares final?
No. They are the highest published base rates. In practice, tiered pricing and promos can make your actual fare lower, while surcharges and fees are added on top.
